Tae Kwon Do

From the Korean language, Tae Kwon Do literally means “the way of the foot and hand.” Centuries old Martial Arts techniques are combined in a way to result in a lifestyle and curriculum that offers a modern method of self-defense and a path to attainment of the Black Belt. We use several primary activities to learn Martial Arts in general.

They are Forms, Sparring, Breaking, and Competition.

Benefits:
  1. Strength and Fitness are gained through the practice of developing physical movements that concentrate and focus human power.
     
  2. Self Defense is a result of being physically fit and having the knowledge to identify and attack specific targets on the human body.
     
  3. Confidence increases over time through setting and achievement of goals and having a personal sense of discipline.
     
  4. Self Control is the final product that comes from the long-term study of Martial Arts. Self Control is the condition of maintaining one’s body, mind, heart, hands, feet, and mouth, in a calm and thoughtful manner.

About our program:

The Children’s TKD Program is a detailed curriculum that focuses on developing fitness and Martial Arts skills in children ages 7 and up. They learn discipline, respect and confidence. They are consistently improving their flexibility, coordination, and overall body strength. The curriculum also contains Personal Development Skills that are used to reinforce family values. The TKD students will become better students at school, better listeners at home and more ambitious towards the future. Our program will enhance positive development in a fun and motivating way.

Lil' Dragons (3-6 years old)

The Lil' Dragons Program is a detailed curriculum that focuses on improving preschool-age children’s basic motor skills. These skills will help them enter society with a more confident and enthusiastic outlook. They will become better students at school, better listeners at home and more ambitious towards the future. We believe the time between the ages of 3 & 6 are the most important years of a child’s development. Our program will enhance positive development in a fun and motivating way.

  1. Prepare your child for our Children’s Martial Arts Program
  2. Expose your child to positive social interaction
  3. Learn how to work with others and follow directions
  4. Build self-confidence

About our program:

The Lil' Dragons curriculum consists of developing 8 Major Skills that are necessary for participation in any sport or activity. The curriculum also contains 8 Lil' Dragons Personal Development Skills that are used to reinforce family values. Upon completion of our Lil' Dragons Program, your child will become focused and motivated to achieve any goal they set in life!

The 8 Lil' Dragons skill requirements are composed of physical and mental benefits. The following are the skills with the benefits gained from participating in the Lil' Dragons class:

  1. Focus – aim, listening skills and reaction skills

  2. Teamwork – willingness to work with others, leadership skills

  3. Control – making good decisions

  4. Balance – better balance and posture

  5. Memory – exercise for the brain

  6. Discipline – pride in doing the right thing &, following directions

  7. Fitness – healthy lifestyle
